Hanukka - Days Four, Five, and Six

I had been feeling much better yesterday. Jason and I took his '57 Ranchero up to Delray for a vintage sale, met up with some friends, and then ate dinner. Afterwards we headed down to Miami. I can't say no to free drinks and subsequently woke up feeling very much worse for wear. I have sat in the bathtub for the past hour (where i am currently typing this entry) waiting to start feeling better.

Anyways, without further ado...

Art Basel Miami

This coming week is Art Basel and it is times like this that make me feel like living in South Florida isn't so bad. But then the week will be over and there will be barely anything going on for month and then I remember that South Florida is generally no fun.

Here are some things I am very much looking forward to:

NADA / Gallery Sora
Per KRS: "Imagine 12 foot strawberry and banana soft sculptures, and a massive Milk Man head sculpture behind Deerhoof as they perform, as well as Kagami dancing in a Milk Man costume of his own design. There will also be a projection of a performance Ken did in Tokyo that was solely created for this special Deerhoof performance."

Wednesday, December 5th 2007 @ 10PM
On the beach between 21st & 22nd streets
FREE!
Need I say more?

"Small Stuff" Opening

Last night I went with my friend Nicole to an art scavenger hunt in downtown Ft. Lauderdale and then we headed over to the Small Stuff opening at Bear and The Bird, a boutique and gallery upstairs in one of my favorite stores down here, Tate's Comics. There was a lot of great work there and most of the stuff for sale was quite affordable, but sadly at this point even spending $75 on myself isn't in my budget, especially with the holidays right around the corner.

Here were some of my favorites from the show:

(from l to r: "I Swear" - Daniel Brito, "Munecas" - Greg Kletsel, "She Was Won't To Warble" - Marjorie Liucci, "Girl" - Bianca Mejia, "Winter", "Summer", "Spring" & "Autumn" - May Ann Licudine)

You can view the whole collection at Bear + The Bird's Flickr Page.

However, I am never able to leave Tate's Comics without picking up at least a few blind box toys. My loot from last night included:

2 Gashapon Louvre Museum Minis and 2 Kidrobot Super Mini
Keychains (Series 3)
